2022 Annual Symposium

The Right care, first time, where you live held its annual symposium last week. The Program is focussed on empowering communities to improve the youth mental health system in their region.

It’s been an incredible journey over the past year working on implementing Phase I of the Program with the Office of Mental Health and Wellbeing, ACT Health. We’ve learned so many things along the way and it was really exciting to hear about the ACT’s perspective on co-creating a youth mental health system model and decision support tool for that region.

Building a youth mental health decision support tool really highlighted to us the critical need to engage with young people who have lived experience of mental illness and the mental health system to fully understand the way that system operates on the ground.

We’re very grateful to the Office of Mental Health and Wellbeing, ACT Health, and the sector collaboration that enabled this process.

We look forward to continuing our work with the Office of Mental Health and Wellbeing, ACT Health, as we enter Phase II of the Program.

We’re commencing Phase I of the Program next year with Brisbane South PHN, Western Sydney PHN and Healthy North Coast PHN and we look forward to continuing to learning and better understand the youth mental health system in their regions.

The Program is proudly enabled by the BHP Foundation.
